How I became an Axolotl

Yolanda Morales

I will tell you how to become an Axolotl. Listen.

Three performers invite the audience to go through stages of a metamorphosis. Through autofictional poetic texts, musical elements and reduced body language, the performers reflect their own thoughts on the symbol of the axolotl in the damp glass walls.

With its regenerative powers, the smiling "water god" tells of the potential of eternal life, a promise of the future that has never materialised. Is its permanent existence in the larval stage to be understood as futile indecision or rebellious refusal?

We subject the Bad Berg to a shift in perception and together explore imaginary spaces and states of the Aztec underwater creature. The swimming pool becomes an aquarium, bodies a grotto, glass windows a cage.

Info

The show takes place in and around the pool and in the outdoor area. The public is invited to take part in swimwear.
